Feng Shui Tips: Bed Placement Is Very Important

Home Improvement: Advice and Features: Feng Shui: ASK ANGI: "

Q. The foot of my bed points directly to the doorway and is in the path of the door. Is this a problem?

A.

A bed that has its foot directly facing the entrance to the room is in the death position and very unlucky – and not only according to Chinese feng shui. Other cultures, such as the Italians, also carry a body out feet first when a death has occurred in a home. Try to not position any part of the bed directly in line with the door opening, or the corresponding part of the body will be affected.

The head of the bed should butt up against the wall across from the main entrance of the room. If the door is in the corner, for example, the bed should be diagonally across the room, in the farthest corner from the door. You can also have your bed at a 90-degree or 45-degree angle from the door. If the door is the middle of the wall, have the bed to either side of the door.
